About
We were established in 1971 and are one of the oldest free clinics in the United States. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our community!
One of Healthy People 2020’s goals is to achieve health equity and improve the health of all groups; defined as the “attainment of the highest level of health for all people”. Achieving health equity requires valuing everyone equally, with focused and ongoing societal efforts to address avoidable inequalities, historical and contemporary injustices, and the elimination of health and health-care disparities. Healthy People 2020 envisions a society in which ALL people live long, healthy lives. We pledge to do our part to carry out that vision.
The clinic is managed by an Executive Director under the supervision of a volunteer Board of Directors. The clinic is staffed by a clinic coordinator, certified nursing assistant, and registered nurse. Georgia Milan, MD and Cindy Bunde, PA-C, are the daily providers at the clinic. Moving from volunteer providers to staffing providers has given our patients the continuity of care they deserve! We do still have gracious volunteers that come in regularly as well. We appreciate all of their hard work and their dedication and loyalty to the clinic and the community.
The PFC works with various health programs at Idaho State University (ISU). Some of these programs include the ISU Family Medicine Residency, ISU Family Dentistry, pharmacy, dental hygiene, physician assistant, athletic training students, and more! Students from chosen programs complete rotations at the clinic to help establish experience in their chosen field. We also have community dentists and physician assistants who volunteer their time to the clinic and our patients journey towards better health. Our coverage of care includes the treatment of urgent and chronic disease, preventative medicine, women’s health, chiropractic adjustment, prescription assistance, health and wellness education, oral exams and cleanings, restorative dental work, and more.
